This lovely soft top Series has been extensively and comprehensively rebuilt in recent years, culminating in a high specification vehicle. During the rebuild many parts were replaced for which there is some documentary evidence. This includes – clutch, road springs, steering box, ball joints, wheel cylinders and brake drums, carb, starter motor, exhaust system, kenlowe fan etc etc.

As one can see, the idea behind the rebuild has been longevity – all the vulnerable steel components are now galvanised, which should eliminate any costly replacements of larger parts in coming years – and should keep this truck looking just as good as it does now.

On the inside there is a full compliment of seating, front and rear, with load mats, and other than that it retains a nice standard, period feel. Inertia reel belts in the front are fitted. Extra belting to the rear can be added if required. 

Externally, the bodywork is presented in nice condition – particularly straight with a good paint finish – the canvas is recent as are the galvanised hood sticks – all nice to see. The canvas is an uprated item, with rear windows. This gives the interior a light and airy feel, allows for safe turning, and affords passengers in the rear a view out, so it really is a 7 seater.

There are some other nice features which help retain the period look, including a bonnet mounted spare, twin towing eyes to the front bumper, and cappings still galvanised. There’s also a handy reversing and fog light.

Out on the road this old girl shows a good turn of speed, and runs just as she should.

In summary, this is a highly desirably specified vehicle, rebuilt to last for another 40 or so years, and with that smart soft top, can get you out of the snow or hack it down the beach with the surf board in the back!
