Every classic Land Rover® tells its own story. Years of hard work, off-road adventures and changing ownership often leave their mark, making specialist body repairs an important part of preserving these iconic vehicles for future generations.
At John Brown 4×4, our dedicated bodyshop combines craftsmanship with decades of experience working on classic Land Rover® models. From repairing damaged body panels and addressing corrosion to preparing vehicles for sale, every project is completed with the same attention to detail and respect for originality that has helped build our reputation.
Our bodyshop services are available exclusively to customers who have purchased their vehicle from John Brown 4×4. By focusing on the vehicles we know and have prepared ourselves, we can continue providing the high standard of workmanship and aftersales support our customers expect throughout their ownership.

Our bodyshop isn’t simply a workshop that carries out repairs after a vehicle has been sold.
Before any classic Land Rover® joins the John Brown 4×4 showroom, it passes through our experienced workshop and bodyshop. Every vehicle is carefully assessed and, where necessary, receives sympathetic body repairs, paintwork improvements or cosmetic refinement to ensure it meets the standards expected by both our team and our customers.
This same expertise continues long after purchase.
Whether your vehicle requires repairs, corrosion treatment or simply cosmetic attention after years of enjoyable ownership, you can be confident it will receive the same level of care as the vehicles we prepare for sale every day.
Our bodyshop is led by Bodyshop Manager Aimee Reeson, whose attention to detail and commitment to quality are reflected throughout every stage of the repair process. All works are overseen by our Founder, John Brown Snr, offering technical support and his in-depth knowledge to every vehicle that passes through the business.
Working exclusively with classic Land Rover® vehicles requires an understanding that goes far beyond modern accident repair. Every model has its own construction methods, materials and restoration considerations, from aluminium body panels and steel chassis components to the subtle details that preserve originality and character.
Rather than replacing parts unnecessarily, our philosophy is always to repair, restore and preserve wherever practical, ensuring each vehicle retains the personality that makes classic Land Rover® ownership so rewarding.
We asked Aimee what she enjoys most about working on classic Land Rover® vehicles:
“Working on classic Land Rover® vehicles is very different from modern cars. Every repair requires patience, experience and an understanding of how these vehicles were originally built. We always aim to carry out work that complements the vehicle and respects its heritage, because every Land Rover® deserves to be treated as an individual.”
– Aimee Reeson, Bodyshop Manager
Unlike modern vehicles, classic Land Rover® models present a unique combination of materials and construction techniques.
Our team regularly works on vehicles including:
Because we specialise exclusively in these vehicles, we understand the common areas that require attention and the best methods for carrying out sympathetic repairs.
Every repair is approached individually, taking into account the vehicle’s age, originality, intended use and long-term preservation.
These include:
Every project begins with a careful assessment to determine the most appropriate repair method while maintaining the integrity of the vehicle.
No two classic Land Rover® vehicles are the same.
Some owners wish to maintain every original feature, while others prioritise creating a dependable vehicle for regular use. Our approach is always tailored to the individual vehicle and the owner’s expectations.
Where practical, we aim to preserve original components rather than replacing them unnecessarily. Maintaining factory features, correct panel fitment and period character is often just as important as achieving an excellent cosmetic finish.
By balancing restoration with practical repairs, we help ensure every vehicle continues to reflect its unique history.
Owning a classic Land Rover® inevitably means occasional repairs and essential maintenance over time.
Whether your vehicle picks up minor cosmetic damage, requires corrosion repairs or simply needs refreshing after years of enjoyable use, our bodyshop is here to provide continued support.
It’s all part of our commitment to supporting customers long after they’ve collected their Land Rover® from us.
