We are delighted to present for sale this 1980 Series 3 Land Rover®, finished in the popular Welsh Mid Grey colour scheme with Limestone wheels and Sand Canvas. This particular example enjoys seating for the whole family, so you can take the kids (or your adult friends!) out for any adventure you plan to have.

Externally, as the photos show, there are lots of features one might hope to see…. a recent front bumper, bonnet mounted spare, larger defender style door mirrors to increase visibility whilst driving and parking, rear grab handles, tow bar and electrics to allowing towing, recent sand canvas, etc – this creates a rather attractive looking package, which is appreciated by the public based on the reactions when out on test drive… we struggle to think of a better looking period Series 3 we’ve had at HQ for some time.

On the inside, there are two front standard seats- the front outer seats benefit from inertia reel 3 point belts, mounted to an integrated roll hoop for the safety of the front and rear occupants. There is a cubby box for storage and keeping items out of sight. There is a full front carpet set for both a premium feel and additional sound proofing, with lower door cards fitted to the front doors as a finishing touch. This creates an interior which is a nice place to be… deluxe rubberised floor mats have been fitted to both footwells to protect the carpet from damage, scratches or muddy boots. The rear houses a pair of twin bench seats, giving seating for six occupants including the driver, with a load mat to the floor area included.

Out on the road is where this old girl really shines though – with several upgrades over and above standard which enhance the period driving experience – road biased Yokohama tyres give a good mix of off and on road ability whilst improving road holding, and a weber carburettor has been fitted to maximise the firepower available from the fact these are larger size, and thus extend the gearing for a more relaxed cruise. Free Wheeling Hubs protect against diff wind up and axle wear, whilst also reducing rolling resistance and therefore increasing fuel economy to the best possible figure. Servo assisted brakes mean it stops well too and allows the driver to press on more freely with the increased confidence the other upgrades provide.

In summary then, if you are looking for a Series Land Rover® which can carry (and serve) the whole family, or you are “thinking ahead” and shopping for the upcoming weather.. then this is well worth considering.
