Here we have for sale, an interesting, ex-military 2a, presented in handy soft top configuration.
As an ex military survivor, this old girl retains some nice features – there is the original front bumper with bumperettes, military headlights, a set of military 750 chevron tyres (these look great, perform very well in muddy conditions, last very well and also give the effect of an overdrive due to being bigger than standard), front lamp guards, under seat fuel tank, bonnet mounted spare and aerial mount. This gives a great overall look, not often found these days. The canvas is in perfect order too.
The interior is well detailed and appointed with 3 recent front seats with inertia style modern belts, a mat set (including one in the rear) and heater. It’s nice to see the original dash looking just at it should too – simple, elegant and clean.
The standard 2286cc petrol runs well, mated to the unburstable 2a gearbox, and with the free wheeling hubs for improved economy and reduced wear, along with those larger tyres for better cruising speeds at lower revs, this is a good combined package.
If you are looking for a nice, original, ex military soft top in easy to care for 12 volt spec, then this soft top should prove to be a worthy contender. With no road tax and cheap ex military insurance it should be a doddle to live with too!
