Here for sale we have a superb, genuine, ex-military 88″ 2a with full military history.

It looks to have survived with all the military kit still attached, and these are getting hard to find nowadays. On the outside it has ALL the various features one would hope to see – from the bridging plate to the correct headlights and lenses, plus the array of furniture attached to the rear of the vehicle – it really is very nice, and looks very handsome indeed. The canvas is a brand new item, and will shrink down to a smarter looking fit, once it gets wet! The bodywork, as the pictures show, is also very tidy.

There are rear pioneer tools available for this truck – a shovel and a pick axe, which the previous owner has promised to dig out and send on….they look great when fitted too!

On the inside, the military feel continues with flyscreens to the vents, and some military switch gear. It is well presented and comes with deluxe mats and seating to the front, and fitted rear bench seats too.

This vehicle comes with all its military history – it was built in 1966 and served overseas for the first few years of its life – interestingly in 1967 it served with 3GM Thunder Platoon (GM stands for Guided Missile!!) in Germany. It then served in Antwerp until 1978 when it was released. There are various documents supporting this, plus a heritage Certificate, all included in the sales pack.

In summary, this is a lovely, early, softtop 2a, with interesting history and previously enthusiast owned. It has the ultra dependable petrol engine with the benefit of an overdrive too, and is undoubtedly one of the nicest military land rovers we have had the pleasure to present. It would be ideal to just have as a toy, but is complete enough to show also! We think it looks great!
