Any vehicle we have in stock is available for hire. We frequently hire out our vehicles for fashion photoshoots, film and TV. All appropriate Public Liability insurances are in place.
We cover all regions of the UK, and can work at short notice, as can sometimes be needed within this industry. Prices vary on length of hire period, and are subject to VAT and expenses incurred (transport, LEZ/Congestion fees, etc).
We are discreet, reliable and experienced in this field, particularly within the M25, where it is traditionally difficult to get specialist vehicles to locations on time and on budget.
Pictured below is our 1949, Series 1. It was used to promote a new sunglasses range for Ralph Lauren – it can be seen being delivered to Belgravia, Central London. We were set the task to supply a similar vehicle to that used by Winston Churchill in the post war years – with only 48 hours notice we were able to deliver a suitable vehicle, on time and to the correct destination. The requirement was to supply the vehicle “stripped” so that the photographer was able to gain access to the occupants. We were ready and waiting at the given address well before the crew arrived.
We delivered a stunning, restored Series 1 80″ that was previously used by Winston Churchill after the war to get around London. It is an iconic classic car, being the first model ever produced by The Rover Company. Such vehicles are now very rare, especially in this condition. It is, of course, running and driving and road legal. All the vehicles within this section are retained within the company and are available at any time.
On a bright day in April, the weather was kind to the crew and the Ralph Lauren photoshoot was completed. Once the shoot was over, the vehicle was collected and returned to base. Andrew Lauren is pictured here in the passenger seat. The shots were used for their Spring/Fall campaign.
This vehicle from John Brown 4×4 is already famous, having featured in “A Cook On The Wild Side” with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. It has been displayed at River Cottage HQ, and is even signed by Hugh himself. The vehicle is fully functional and has a full kitchen with sinks, fridge, oven and hob. It is fully roadworthy and legal to use. We were invited to River Cottage HQ to meet Hugh and display his finely restored vehicle! It is now sold to a private collector.
Following our collaboration, we were delighted to hear once again from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall @ River Cottage HQ that they were embarking upon a new TV Series and that he would like to borrow our Electric Land Rover® Demonstrator to star in the show! This involved delivering the car down to Hugh, and performing a hand-over along with instructions for use. The vehicle featured in all episodes of the show and performed without a hitch. Find more information on our Electric Series Land Rover® here.
In 2021, following recent collaborations with the River Cottage HQ Team, we were able to supply a fully Electric Series Land Rover® to assist with the filming of Hugh’s new Series, “Beyond River Cottage”. The Land Rover® was heavily featured moving between destinations throughout the programme, even forming part of a “cooking station” on a Cornwall Beach!
The Land Rover® is now retained within the company and is fully solar charged when undertaking official company business!
We were delighted to provide The Commonwealth Games 2022 with our Classic Land Rover® Series 2a for the opening ceremony. Presided over by HRH The Prince of Wales & in honour of HRH Prince Phillip – we were only too happy to collaborate with The Commonwealth Games 2022 to feature our stunning Classic Land Rover® Series 2a to the world during the opening ceremony.
We were extremely proud and flattered to have been selected to provide a museum quality Land Rover® to reside in the Royal garage on board The Royal Yacht, Britannia. Following the removal of the resident vintage Bentley, we were tasked with providing an accurate replica of the Series one, as stored aboard and used by The Queen when on her global travels. The Queen drove a vehicle like this on the beach on the Isle Of Arran, and photos were supplied to us to replicate the vehicle as close as possible. This was a tremendous project which led to the making of just 2 others, which reside in private hands – one of which was created for our good friend, Ben Fogle.
The vehicle was completed and delivered to the ship using our in house delivery agent. From there it was slowly winched aboard and manoeuvred into the garage, where it will still remain forever! There is a fitting display, so if you are an enthusiast, follower, or past customer please do go and see it in the flesh! To see a Time-lapse video of the vehicle being loaded onboard the ship, click here.
In honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, we were invited to Edinburgh to visit our friends at The Royal Yacht Britannia, in order to hand over a very special gift & see our Land Rover® Series 1, commissioned by HM Queen Elizabeth II, on display on the Yacht.
We were delighted to be contacted by Ben Fogle, who is writing a book on the Land Rover®. He has been touring the UK, researching people and places that sum up the brand. After much discussion, it was decided that Ben would buy a Series 1 from us, and that we would join him on his journey as a support team.
Following a night before meeting, we arrived at work with Ben to show him our operation and prepare for the long journey ahead! Ben has done quite a lot of research for his book, and it should be a great read – he was interested to see our 101, not least because it has a special connection with Land Rover®, it being the subject of a toy model made for children (and adults!). We recommended an 80″ Series 1 to Ben – this one has been restored mechanically and has a 200tdi engine fitted. This should prove to be more reliable on a long journey – and with motorways involved, the added power and speed should keep us safer too. Ben loved the fact that the paintwork and canvas are weathered in, and also found the sound of the turbo spinning up “infectious”.
Although Ben liked our shiny vehicles, he is more inclined towards patina – each to their own on this one. HTM is still currently for sale as we write this and has been subjected to our refurbishment program. We also showed Ben our fully rebuilt vehicles to show just how far one can go with a rebuild. We were delighted to work with Ben Fogle on his Land Rover® book.
Following a call from Alan, we were able to supply him with an in-house rebuilt Series 2a Land Rover®. The handover was conducted by John Brown Sr himself, and he was treated to a guided tour of Alan’s lovely garden!
We were contacted, as a local, Land Rover® supplier, to see if we could provide some Land Rover® 90s which could be used as “Camera Cars” for the reboot series of “Challenge Anneka” on Channel 4. We duly committed and undertook the task of modifying the chosen vehicles so that they could be safely used with a camera rig. We would like to think that we were so helpful, that we were asked if we could support the team in ALL their locations around the UK, and again, we duly obliged. We assisted with relocating the vehicles to the various filming sites and undertook all the various logistical tasks as part of the job.
Pictured here is our founder, John Brown Sr, alongside “Hairy Biker” Si King. John reports that it was pleasure to meet him and good to talk “all things Land Rover®” with him. We hope to be able to assist him with his Land Rover® 110 in the future.
