This stunning soft top 90 has had just one keeper since release from forces in 2011, and has survived in remarkable and original condition. It has covered just 62,133 miles, although the odometer reads in KM at 99,904. On release from forces it had 80,000 KM on the clock, and to those who know, the military were fastidious in their maintenance. As such it has covered only 10,000 or so miles in civilian hands over that 3 year period. This results in a vehicle that starts with no smoke, and a few seconds of glow – really nice to see, and a testament to the fitness of the low mileage engine. The chassis has also survived in completely solid and weld free condition, which again is very unusual. The whole underneath, including exhaust and shock absorbers is cleaner than just about any other we have seen….it has never been waxoyled or treated, and it can be viewed as such – even the rear diff still survives painted white, with the convoy light illuminating it nearby. Needles to say, the bulkhead and cappings are all as good as new too.

Inside, there are two rear bench seats which look original to the army days, and the front is fitted with twin seats. There’s a fire extinguisher, and even the stickers remain from forces days – everything is as it should be, with convoy light switch and military lighting. Externally, the bodywork is in good condition as can be seen in the photos. The finish is a typical military silk sheen, although we have oiled the paintwork to give it more presence! It has all the features one would expect from an original military vehicle, with lamp guards and wing top boxes….it actually looks quite like a more expensive “Wolf” vehicle.

Out on the road, this vehicle does not disappoint, and it runs just as it should, with sharp brakes and direct steering. The five speed box gives the vehicle that extra cruising gear for more relaxed driving on longer journeys.There is a stereo fitted, and also a handy internal roll over hoop to protect occupants in the event of an upside down experience!
