Land Rover® Series 2a *Tax & MOT Exempt Rebuild* (WOT)

Sold

For sale, Land Rover® Series 2a Crossover in Light Pastel Green (1970).

Petrol 2286cc. 12 Months MOT will be supplied on sale, and will be MOT exempt after this point. Fully rebuilt in 2014. Parabolic Springs. Tax Exempt. Free Wheeling Hubs.

We are delighted to present for sale this stunning, fully rebuilt (on the original chassis) Series 2a ragtop in rare crossover model. This vehicle was subject to a back to chassis rebuild circa 2014/2015 according to the paperwork supplied with the vehicle. From what we can see, the original chassis was carefully repaired with new parts and was then sealed and painted - many new parts were then fitted including new Parabolic Springs, Swivels, brake components.... the list is just too large to write here, but a large batch of receipts documents the many new parts fitted during this process.

On the outside, the bodywork is painted in popular Light Pastel Green, and is very straight. Most of the parts have been re-galvanised, as many would do in a 'proper' rebuild. A new Sand Canvas is fitted along with a recent stick set. All the tyres are recent and are of 750 size giving increased ratios for a more relaxed cruise.... even the wheels are really nice, rather than the usual slightly pitted or rusty types you may find on a non-rebuilt vehicle. Period vintage numberplates and wing mirrors are fitted, along with rear mudflaps. The paintwork is of a very professional finish and coupled with the re-galvanised parts eg. lamp guards it all looks very handsome.

The detailing to under the bonnet and inside the cab are of a very professional standard. On the inside, the deluxe seat set is in perfect condition, all the door seals are new, and deluxe matting is fitted to the front footwells, with a load mat in the rear. Even the seat frames have been galvanised which point to the level of detailing that has gone into achieving this high level of finish. There are various other features which assist in more pleasant daily ownership.... the dash lights are nice and bright and work well, the headlights only work with the ignition on - so it is impossible to run the battery flat, and the steering is ultra ultra light due to a good setup and the correct fitting of newer components.

The resulting drive from all this hard work is very very nice - and up there with the best of them. The petrol engine is a real peach. It ticks over very quietly from cold, and pulls very nicely indeed. The brakes are sharp and responsive, and the whole driving experience feels well sorted.

In summary, if you are looking for the crispness of a new rebuild, but don't want to lay out the much larger initial cost of a fresh rebuild, then this superb looking crossover 2a then we think this represents superb value for money. With tax exemption and MOT exemption looming, classic insurance and appreciating residual value, then this versatile soft-top promises to be a great classic addition to the family.
