For sale, Land Rover® 90 in G4 Orange (1991)
Long MOT and taxed until June 2014. This stunning vehicle has been recently rebuilt onto a new galvanised chassis. It sports the reliable 200tdi engine, and is fitted with power steering for better driving comfort. As can be seen in the photos, it has smart chequer plate wing tops, chequer plate sills to match, G4 stickers, front lamp guards, and big wheels and tyres….. even the spare matches. All this gives a pleasing style and stance to it.
Out on the road, this vehicle pulls and drives very well, as you’d imagine. In fact we drove this vehicle in from the Mildlands and it didn’t miss a beat.
This vehicle is one for someone who wants to keep it a long time – the galvanised chassis will last a very long time, and with the simple yet reliable mechanics, and no computers or electric windows there’s not a lot to go wrong. The off road tyres should give excellent off road performance, should that be your thing.
We really like this beast, and hope you do too!

For Sale, Land Rover® Series 3 Station Wagon in Masai Red (1983)
12 months MOT will be supplied, and taxed until July 2014. This is a genuine Station Wagon, fitted with all the fineries that they come with….tropical roof with vents, headliner, deluxe interior trim with door cards, deluxe carpeting, techno seats and rear carpet etc etc.
This smart Station Wagon was purchased from Huddersfield Land rover Centre in 1993, and subsequently rebuilt in 1996 for the purchaser, Mr Smith - the work was carried out by Warwick 4X4. The work involved a recon gearbox (the current one stuck in third), a new galvanised chassis, new brake pipes, refurbished front and rear axles, swivels refurbished, new brake drums, flexis, slave cylinder, new fuel tank, sender, replacement of both foot wells, new exhaust manifold and gasket etc etc.
In addition to this professional and documented rebuild in 1996 there are also some very interesting extras fitted. It has a complete “Lasalle” dashboard, which offers superior switching to electrical ancillaries – the switches, as photos show, illuminate when in use – they all have a task and it’s nice to see that they operate in such a robust fashion. There has also been a very cleverly fitted power steering kit, which transforms the drive – even your grandma could drive it (no sexism or ageism intended). Under the bonnet the upgrades continue – an SU carburettor and manifold has been fitted to improve both fuel economy and performance over standard, and this translates to a good turn of speed and lots of torque.
On the outside, the Land Rover® sports Free Wheeling Hubs, for further improved economy over standard, a smart rear tow bar (galvanised and height adjustable) with electrics, a rear galvanised step, front towing eyes, front tow bar (great for moving trailers and caravans into difficult spots, chequer plate wing tops and sills, front roof visor, front and rear lamp guards, and rear mounted spare. This truck really is loaded with extras, and looks great for it.
This is a very interesting Series 3 – useable with the Station Wagon configuration, more economical with uprated carb and free wheeling hubs, desirable with galvanised chassis, uprated dash and power steering, and overall a nice, genuine thing.
A rare and smart Land Rover.

For sale, Land Rover® 90 Soft top in Metallic Blue (1985)
This vehicle has been reserved, but due to the new buyer having to stay overseas it is now available once more.
MOT until October 29th 2014 and not currently taxed, although this vehicle attracts the low tax bracket attributed to series Land Rovers due to its age.
This smart 90 houses a superb Range Rover V8 unit, which sounds and pulls as you might expect (have a listen to it on the video walk around). It is also fitted with an LPG system which works very well. In fact, it actually (as they often do) runs smoother on LPG than it does on petrol! It has just been set up and inspected by Autogas 2000, and has had fancy new direct gas injectors fitted to the carbs, which is an upgrade to the original system which was poorly designed. In short, it feeds the gas directly into each carb, giving good running and improved starting…it is set up to start and run on gas, meaning there is no need for petrol at any point.
This unique looking 90 has an excellent chassis and bulkhead, and is fitted with a desirable soft top and integral roll cage, to keep you safe in the event of a roll over.
Other features include an A bar with superb twin spots (working), snorkel, chequer plate wing tops, heavy duty sills, diff guard, twin front seats with cubby box, alloy gear knob etc etc.. It also has working fog and reversing lights, not normally either fitted or working on such an early defender.
Out on the road the whole vehicle feels and runs really well……great power for modern running, progressive brakes, and a five speed box for cruising…..for such an early vehicle this really could be used on a daily basis. It sounds awesome, and that v8 cannot help but put a smile on your face – and coupled with the LPG it is no where near as expensive as it SOUNDS to run!
This is a good, solid 90, which attracts classic insurance, low road fund, and will return good fuel consumption with the LPG. (we’d expect it to do 18/20 on petrol and 35 ish on LPG). In other words it should be much cheaper to run than a more modern vehicle of the same spec. The rag top also makes it an enjoyable ,cool, year round runabout, and with that awesome V8 engine….!

For sale, Land Rover® Series 2a in Deep Bronze Green (1970)
MOT until March 20th 2015 and road tax exempt. 88,000 miles. Diesel.
This is a commissioned sale of a customer’s vehicle, and therefore a private sale. Felicity bought this diesel 2a from us a few years ago – before that it was sold by us too, so unusually we know a fair bit of its history and former keepers! It has been well maintained over this time, and improved as they tend to be when owned by caring keepers who love their Land Rovers®.
From what we recall, it is a very very solid truck, and has behaved itself well during its time with our two customers. It is ex mlitary, and still bears some remnants of its time in the forces – the front bumper, and bolt holes in the wing where the bridging plate would have been fixed!
This is a very usable truck, with heater, luxury mats and seats and tow bar.
If you are looking for a well priced 2a with a known keeper history and a proven track record of reliability then this is worth a look.

For sale, Land Rover® Series 3 Station wagon in Masai Red (1983)
MOT until October 24th 2014 (another can be applied at low cost) and not currently taxed.
Petrol 2286cc with new carburettor.
This is a very genuine and original Station Wagon – and as such sports all of the extras associated with this – deluxe seats, headlinings and door cards, twin reversing lights, front fog lights, tropical roof, four tip up seats to rear – so this is really a family vehicle in the most comfortable configuration possible from this brand.
This vehicle is also well appointed…..it has both free wheeling hubs and an overdrive for maximum fuel efficiency. There’s a towbar, and two spare wheels mounted in the period fashion.
This Station Wagon is very straight and looks as smart up close as in the photos. We cannot substantiate the mileage of 38,133 bu would not be surprised to learn if it were accurate.
Genuine station wagon 88″ Series 3s are nice to own, and hold their value well, due to their practical nature.

For sale, Land Rover® Series 2a in Light Pastel Green (1968)
12 Months MOT supplied at point of sale, and tax exempt (not currently taxed)
Petrol 2286cc. This is an unmessed with, 2a, having covered just 100,450 miles from new – there are old MOTs back to 1989, which show a mileage of 74,000 miles – so it’s done around a thousand miles a year since then.
This smart 2a has some nice period features – deluxe seating and matting to the interior, with the correct heater, steering wheel and dash etc. On the outside the bodywork is nice and straight, and there are other nice touches here too, like period mudflaps, spare wheel mounted on the back door, some nice badges, useful towbar – and it’s nice to see the correct deep sills, and original front end, with lights where they should be and galvanised grill – it’s just as it should be with nothing there that shouldn’t be – genuine and original!
Original and straight 2as are becoming ever scarcer – so we are delighted to bring this old girl to market.

For sale, Land Rover® Series 3 Station Wagon in Limestone (1980)
Taxed and tested until June 2015. Petrol 2286cc. Only 2 former keepers and 32,317 miles. This vehicle has spent nearly all of it’s life in the same family, which is why it has survived so well, and in such original condition. This vehicle started out life as a station wagon, with all the refinements associated with that – tropical roof, roof liner, door cards, mats etc etc…..but then it underwent a very rare Searle camper conversion. Most people are familiar with the long wheel base campers, but not many know that Searle converted a few short wheel base variants….and of these few, only a few survive, and virtually none with the original cushions to actually use them…indeed most are now stripped out or changed. There is a register of such vehicles, and the new owner would have the fun of supply information to update it with this one, which has just surfaced. It is probably the most complete vehicle in existence of this type. As a very rare, and few owner vehicle, it has retained some lovely features…..to those in the know, a complete an original tool roll for a Series 3 is just unheard of…….and this one comes with full tool roll, tools – even the stirrup pump, jack, and wooden handles to fit…..it’s all there, and included in this unique sale. There are a full set of also rare and valuable Avon Traction Mileage tyres…another hint as to it’s history. So how does it work? Well, the bulkhead was removed and fitted with a removable bar. This bar lifts out and allows the bed to extend through onto the front seats, thereby giving two 6 ft beds…very clever. We have never seen one with the correct, original cushions – only in photos -so this one really is a survivor. Unfortunately we can’t verify the mileage (even on old online MOT history checks which suggests it’s been layed up a while), but considering the very few owners, original nature of the whole car etc etc, we would not be surprised to learn that it’s correct – the speedo works too so it is adding a few miles year on year. The engine sounds lovely and also falls in line with these thoughts and figures. Out on the road the story unfolds…..light, direct steering, smooth progressive power delivery from the whisper quiet engine… We have put this Land Rover ®through our in house schedule, in the course of which several tired road springs have been replaced (functioned ok but were well past their sell by), and the whole chassis has been inspected and under sealed to preserve it . In other words it’s ready to enjoy for another 30 plus years…..and there’s absolutely no reason why it could not be used for a camping trip too! If you are looking for a limestone Station Wagon with provenance, very very low mileage and low keepers then this could fit the bill….add to that the rare and unique nature of this variant then it makes it one very desirable Series 3. For sale, Land Rover® Series 3 Deep Bronze Green (1976)
12 months MOT and taxed until April 2014. Petrol 2286cc. This superb Series Land Rover® was subject to a major restoration in 2011. This work involved preparing, repairing and repainting the original chassis to a high standard. A brand new galvanised bulkhead was fitted, all body panels were either replaced or repaired,(including doors and door tops which are sttel and prone to rust) and all the cappings were re- galvanised…even the bonnet hinges have been re-galvanised. Because of this, the Land Rover® looks very crisp and is well presented throughout. There were also improvements made to other areas of the vehicle beyond cosmetics, which lead it to both sound and drive nicely.
This is, in our opinion, a somewhat exceptional vehicle. It is rare to find one with such straight body panels and professional paintwork. Coupled with the new galvanised bulkhead, this lovely Series will grace any driveway for many years to come.

For sale, Land Rover® Series 3 in Marine Blue (1982)
MOT until October 28th 2014, and taxed until September 2014.
Petrol 2286cc. This very smart truck cab was subjected to a “back to bare chassis” restoration in 2007. It received a new rear quarter chassis, and then it was rebuilt back up with fully reconditioned axles, new springs, shocks, brakes, swivels etc etc. The underside of this vehicle is very tidy indeed (the axles are colour coded, such is the level of work undertaken underneath)….matching the smart exterior – the paint finish is a professional two pack paint job, and looks really good – the interior is similarly smart, with recent seats and mats.
Specification wise, this truck delivers well….there’s a useful overdrive, a full set of BFG tyres, free wheeling hubs, a 1955 “Turner” PTO winch, radiator muff for that period look, military rear towing hitch for a sankey trailer, jackable sills (offers superior side impact protection) interior roll cage to rear (protects in the event of overturn), front towing hitch (ideal for parking up boats and caravans) and chequer plate wing tops (so you can sit on them!) To the rear there is a smart and recent rear canvas with side windows – so a pair of bench seats could be installed in the rear should you want to carry passengers.
Out on test, this super vehicle showed how well sorted it is. It is fairly uncommon for every dial to work correctly – speedo is good, temp guage works, and sits right in the middle, fuel guage works….and even when you flick the dash light switch, on they come! Just lovely! The petrol engine is nice and clean, and it pulls well right through the rev range….the overdrive is nice and quiet and it cruises along very well indeed.
This is a well presented, and “tidy throughout” vehicle, ready to be enjoyed, so if you are looking for something that’s got period charm, smart looks (as good underneath as on top) , and has already had a lot of time and money thrown at it then this would worth a look.
